If you want a successful orthodontic treatment with orthodontic aligners, then it’s important to follow the oral hygiene rules set for your orthodontic journey. Oral hygiene is vital for the top-notch smile and orthodontic appliance you need to reach your smile goals. So, our dentist, Dr. Anthony Gonzalez, would like to remind you of the oral hygiene rules by listing them here:

-Brush often: Brushing can help you avoid getting cavities during treatment. This is because it removes the food particles and plaque that would be stuck on your smile and under the aligner all day. So, please brush after each time you eat. This can also help you avoid plaque buildup on the aligner.

-Floss regularly: Flossing can also help you avoid dental issues, especially cavities and gum disease, during your orthodontic journey. So, make sure to floss at least once a day.

-Rinse daily: Rinsing can help you have a clean and pristine smile while you wear your aligners. This is because it completes the cleaning job, helps the teeth and more. Please remember to rinse your mouth at least once a day.

-Clean your aligners: Clean your aligners regularly to remove plaque buildup and other bacteria on the appliance. You can do so by using the special cleaning tools in your aligner kit or a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub it. Also, make sure to rinse the aligners every time you take them out of your mouth.
